WOW! what a day for CV XC! On a Saturday morning with nearly perfect running weather coupled with the fastest course in Colorado, we certainly took advantage of the day given to us. Getting the invite to the Sweepstakes race was an important opportunity for our team to not only test ourselves against some of the best in the state, but also to tell the state that we belong on the list of "best teams in the state".
The Boys Varsity kicked off the morning with an 11th place finish lead by TJ Frueh's school record breaking (15:24.60) 15th place finish.
The Girls Varsity squad was not to be outdone as they finished 13th lead by Brenna Jorde's school record breaking 23rd place finish (18:14.20) and Riley Combe's 3rd fastest all time 27th place finish (18:19.60).
With the best team finish of the day, the Boys JV placed 5th thanks to a wave of red in 18th (Jacob Gibbs), 26th (Blake Royer), 30th (Jenner Davis), and 31st (Nathaniel Bartunek).
The Girls JV also finished in the top 10 on the day with an 8th place finish lead by a Neev Lev's 7th place finish (19:44.50).
As we celebrate such an incredible day for CV XC, we need to keep our eyes on Leagues, Regionals, and State as the major goals for the season.
