In the midst of Spirit Week, Showdown, the Homecoming football game, and the Homecoming dance, we still had a job to do at Dave Sanders.
With warmer than expected conditions, the Boys Varsity took to the course first, and put forth a respectable performance placing 8th out of 29 teams. Luke Bartunek and Christian Alley finished in the top 30 with 25th, and 28th place finishes respectively.
5 minutes later, the Varsity Lady's took off. The team held their own finishing 8th out of 26 teams lead by Ciara Baker (11th), and Neev Liv (13th) both finishing in the top 15.
Boys JV continued their dominant season placing all 5 scoring athletes in the top 30 (Alexander Legorreta 2nd, Jacob Gibbs7th, Alex Gillies 16th, Curren Scott, 23rd, Chase Dowis 27th! This excellent effort resulted in a 2nd place team finish (edging out Mountain Vista in a tie breaker).
Next up was the JV Girls finishing 11th out of 20 teams lead by Ayden Garvin's strong 30th place finish.
The day finished off with the Open Boys. While we did not have enough boys to score, they still ran strong lead by Jonathan Cowan in 31st place. These results aren't showing up on milesplit, so below are the individual performances:
Jonathan Cowan: 31st - 21:20
Kendall Chestnut: 59th - 22:08
Oscar Lopez: 62nd - 22:17
Justin Kish: 182nd - 31:22

We are transitioning away from Remind starting immediately. Remind no longer allows us to send group announcements, which is not sustainable. For those of you who trained with us over the summer, we will be using SportsYou. Download the SportsYou app and enter the following code to join the CV Cross Country 23 team: EMQK-FZYR

NXR is our annual team trip to Phoenix, AZ. It's a great chance to compete against the best teams from our 5 state region, as well as cap off the season with a fun trip.
The cost of this year's trip will be around $450-$500, but we won't know for sure until we get a final headcount. Our goal is for every athlete to join us - if cost is an issue, please reach out as we do have a small scholarship fund. Also, if you would like to help out a teammate, please reach out to coach Marshall to make a donation to our scholarship fund.
The dates for this year's trip will be Nov 16th- Nov 18th.
We'll be flying out of Colorado Springs ON November 16th at 1:05 PM this year, which will help us avoid waking up at 3 AM and disrupting our sleep schedules just before the race. Our return flight will land in Colorado Springs on 11/18 at 8:25 PM.
This sign-up form will be turned off to entries by Monday Sept 25. Thanks!
