This is a big week- we travel to Arizona to race at the Nike Regional Meet! Please be aware of everything going on this week! Training You NEED to bring in the attached form signed by a parent to practice before Wednesday in order to compete in the Nike meet. No exceptions! Nike Southwest Meet Itinerary- Please know the itinerary!
Packing List: Running shoes, racing flats, race apparel (uniforms will be provided), sweats, toiletries, swimsuit, cash, ID (if applicable), 2 sets of running clothes, light jacket, any medications or inhalers Do not pack: zip ties, air horn (please!) Parents: You will need to call the attendance office to excuse your students from school. Coach Cook cannot excuse them! Winter Conditioning Clarifications If you have been training with us up until the Nike meet, give yourself a break! You will need to take at least 2 weeks off of running (completely!) before starting winter conditioning. You may pay 1/2 price for the first winter conditioning session to reflect this. If you haven't run since the end of the season and you are not participating in a winter sport, please sign up for both sessions! This is essential to improve fitness before the start of track. Consistent training is the key to improvement in distance running. It will really hurt if you hop in on day one of track or summer conditioning without running with us for the rest of the year. Additionally, your improvements in the sport will be minimal at best if you are not consistently running! If cost is a concern, please get in touch with Coach Cook or Coach Baker. All our top athletes know off-season training is essential and participate in all opportunities offered. If you hope to make varsity in XC next year or attain high goals, you NEED to put in the work! Workouts this week Tuesday- no school- meet at Bison Park at 3:20! Sunday- Meet at the MAC at 8am All athletes traveling to Arizona need to have the linked form filled out by their parents and returned to Coach Cook by next Tuesday.
