What an incredible League meet we had on Thursday! The boys JV and Open teams had program best finishes, while the Girls Varsity and JV teams matched program best finishes.
The first race of the day was Boys Varsity, who placed 6th (not bad considering two of the teams in front of them are nationally ranked). Christian Alley started off the scoring with a 2nd Team All League 8th place followed by Luke Bartunek in 22nd Nathaniel Bartunek in 24th, Jacob Kinne in 29th, Liam Kissell in 37th, Rylan Frueh in 40th, and Noah Morine in 44th.
The Girls Varsity was next up on the course and they certainly delivered with a 2nd place finish (behind the number 4 team in the country!). Starting off the scoring with two All League Performances was Neev Lev in 4th (1st Team) and Ciara Baker in 8th (2nd Team) followed by Caroline Mello in 20th, Reese Plummer in 22nd, Ava King in 24th, Sloan Wilson in 26th, and Vivian Mann in 39th.
In the first history making race of the afternoon, the JV Boys put on a clinic finish 1st in truly dominant fashion with 6 of our 7 runners finishing in the top 20. Starting oiff scoring was Jacob Gibbs in 3rd followed closely by Matthew Higgs in 4th, Alex Legorreta in 7th, Blake Royer in 11th, Jenner Davis in 12th, Kaleb Kolbe in 16th, and Curren Scott in 28th.
Next up on the course we had the Girls JV and they continued to put on an impressive display of the CV XC depth with a 2nd place finish. Starting off scoring was Claire Enger in 11th, closely followed by Ashley Reuer in 12th, Teagan Van Slyke in 14th, Julie Rickerd in 19th, Ayden Garvin in 20th, and Sienna Mandrioli in 50th.
The final race of the day proved to be the most dominant performance by CV XC as the Open Boys claimed another 1st place finish. Around 800m in Austin Zenyuh decided he wanted to run alone, making a decisive move into first and never relinquishing this position over the remaining 2.6 miles. Ensuring our dominance, Mason Bussie crossed the line in 3rd followed by Alex Gillies in 6th, Chase Dowis in 10th, Lukas Wendell in 14th, Jonathan Cowan in 16th, Kendall Chestnut in 31st, Oscar Lopez in 34th, Breck Chesney in 39th, Phineas Morton in 40th, Colton Thompson in 100th, and Justin Kish in 129th
