Thank you all for bearing with me as I am figuring out how to operate this new training platform. I have spent the last two days figuring out how to organize athletes and assign training, but it looks like workouts are finally starting to load. I know that it seems complicated now, but in the long run it will be the most effective way for us to offer online coaching. Here's some information for where we are at right now:
Signing up for Final Surge
Everyone who signed up for summer XC on the google forms has received an email invitation to sign up for final surge. This email was sent to the "student email" that was provided on the sheet. If you did not receive the email, check your junk folder. If you still do not see it, email me ASAP and I will resend the invitation. If you are a parent who signed up multiple kids on the same email, you probably only received one invitation. You will need an account for both athletes, so please have them send me their school emails so I can invite them to the group individually.
Training Groups
Once you have signed up for final surge, you must accept an invitation to join "Castle View XC". After you have accepted, I will put you in one of 5 groups: JR/SR A or B group, FR/SO A or B group, or MS Team. After joining you should see that your training calendar fills in with all of your workouts from the week. Each day after completing your run, you can let me know what you did and how it went by entering the workout into the calendar. If you use a GPS watch, there is an option to upload directly to the website (this will make it easier to upload all of your information.)
Please note that this is not the A team or the B team. This is a training level that has to do with your last few months of training, injury status, and how many years you have been doing the sport. Being on the "B plan" has nothing to do with how fast you are, but about the amount of training that is best for you right now. It is always possible to move up to a more intense plan if you show that you are consistent, and handling your training.
