Where do we go from here?
By this point, I'm sure you all have heard the news that DCSD has officially cancelled the spring sports season. This is a sad, but unsurprising announcement. Also, some of you have reached out to me about the status of this team. Here are a couple notes on that:
1.) Training- I will continue to post training on the blog every week. Now more than ever I think it is important for us to stay in touch with our routines. In this time in which we are cut off from our friends, our hobbies, and our normal day to day activities, running remains a simple and healthy activity which we can all do. Training can add a sense of normalcy and purpose to our lives. Also, for those who will be continuing on to run XC in the Fall, the running you do now will make you a better runner then!
2.) Competing- Yes the tracks are closed, which temporarily removes the possibility of a track time trial, but there are still other ways to get out and compete creatively. Find a block around your house and see how fast you can run it. Go run the meadows loop all out and tell your teammates what you ran.
