Sabercats, Nice work to all those who raced over the weekend! It was a varsity debut for many, and the team as a whole stepped up big. Girl's varsity opened the day with our tightest team split of the season, with only 15 seconds separating our #1 and #5 runners. Gizelle Lee crossed the line in 40th, followed immediately by Viv Mann and Teegan Van Slyke in 41st and 42n respectively. Ashley Reuer and Claire Enger both had huge breakthrough races, finishing 47th and 50th to round our sccoring 5. On the boy's. side Rylan Frueh stepped up to the challenge in his first ever varsity race, getting out hard, and leading the team with a top 15 finish and a t-shirt to boot! Kaleb Kolbe and Noah Morine were close behind, notching 27th and 32nd place finishes, while Parker Graham and Curren Scott finished 49th and 74th. Boys JV closed out the day and were led by Lukas Wendell, who moved up over 20 places from the first mile to the finish to post a 33rd place finish and an outright PR. MSU Roadrunner Invite Results SportsYou We are transitioning away from Remind starting immediately. Remind no longer allows us to send group announcements, which is not sustainable. For those of you who trained with us over the summer, we will be using SportsYou. I tried to send out an invite on Saturday but you might not have received the invite. Please use the button to the right in order to join the team. You will need to download the SportsYou app. NXR NXR Sign-Up Form NXR is our annual team trip to Phoenix, AZ. It's a great chance to compete against the best teams from our 5 state region, as well as cap off the season with a fun trip. The cost of this year's trip will be around $450-$500, but we won't know for sure until we get a final headcount. Our goal is for every athlete to join us - if cost is an issue, please reach out as we do have a small scholarship fund. Also, if you would like to help out a teammate, please reach out to coach Marshall to make a donation to our scholarship fund. The dates for this year's trip will be Nov 16th- Nov 18th. We'll be flying out of Colorado Springs ON November 16th at 1:05 PM this year, which will help us avoid waking up at 3 AM and disrupting our sleep schedules just before the race. Our return flight will land in Colorado Springs on 11/18 at 8:25 PM. This sign-up form NEEDS to be completed by Friday Sept 22, or we'll lose the deposit on our group flight. Thanks! Hello Sabercats!
Liberty Bell certainly produced some fine results for CV XC on Saturday morning. After a restart, the Boys Varsity took to the course. While it was not the team result we were looking for, there were still some great individual efforts: Christian Alley 30th, Luke Bartunek 76th, Liam Kissell 89th, Nathaniel Bartunek 104th, Jacob Kinne 113th, Matthew Higgs, 137th, Jenner Davis 145th. Girls Varsity were off 3 minutes later and they continued their mission of telling the State to watch out for them! Finishing in 12th place behind some of the best teams in the State. I'm starting to put two and two together: the girls are one of the best teams in the State! Neev Liv 19th, Ciara Baker 43rd, Ava King 93rd, Reese Plummer 108th, Sloan Wilson 127th, Ellie Lang 149th. Boys JV took to the course as the day was starting to heat up, but this did not stop the tour de force that our JV boys have been all season long. With the best team finish of the day, 2nd, our JV boys might just be one of the best JV squads in the state! Kaleb Kolbe 3rd, Rylan Frueh 6th, Parker Graham 7th, Jacob Gibbs 17th, Curren Scott 48th, Blake Royer 57th, Alex Legorreta 92nd. Girls JV matched girls Varsity with an impressive 12th place finish. Having all 5 finishers in the top 100 at a race like this is pretty darn cool. Gizelle Lee 39th, Teagan Van Slyke 43rd, Claire Enger 69th, Julie Rickerd 91st, Ayden Garvin 93rd. Unfortunately, the boys Open race was not scored. However, a quick glance at the results leads me to believe our Boys ran fantastic! Since Open results were not posted, here are places and times for everyone. Everett Cowan 27th, 19:18.40 Lukas Wendell 55th, 19:51.50 Mason Bussie 66, 20:06.20 Phineas Morton 67th, 20:07.10 Caleb Crabtree 84th, 20:21.20 Jonathan Cowan 125th, 21:13.50 Oscar Lopez 130, 21:20.60 Kendall Chestnut 194th, 22:59.40 Colton Thompson 227th, 24:00.00 Justin Kish 283rd, 30:14.70 Sienna Mandrioli closed out the day representing Castle View very well. Running a solo 26:38 to finish 122nd. We continued our strong start to the season at the Arapahoe Warrior Invitational. The girls squad are continuing to turn heads with strong performances. The Freshman/Sophomore girls finished 10th, and the Varsity girls made a fantastic statement with a 3rd place finish. Individually, we had numerous top 30 finishes: Boys Fr/Soph - Jacob Gibbs 4th, Rylan Frueh 5th, Kaleb Kolbe 10th, Curren Scott 14th, Alex Legorreta 20th, Chase Dowis 26th Girls Fr/Soph - Teagan Van Slyke 28th Boys Varsity - Christian Alley 8th, Luke Bartunek 21st, Nathaniel Bartunek 24th Girls Varsity - Ciara Baker 7th, Neev Lev 10th, Caroline Mello 29th Boys Jr/Sr - Blake Royer 1st, Austin Zenyuh 3rd, Alex Gillies 7th, Holden Ripp 11th Girls Jr/Sr - Ellie Lang 6th, Julie Rickerd 30th Arapahoe Results Team Pictures You still can order team pictures using the following link: Matt Daniels Photography Sign Up Genius Links Team Dinner: Friday @5:30 pm Mello Family Household Schedule TRAINING Mon - 3:20 @CV - est pickup: 6:15 pm Tues - 3:20 @CV - est pickup: 5:15 pm Wed - 3:20 @CV - est pickup: 6:15 pm Thurs - 3:20 @Bison Park - est pickup: 5:15 pm Fri - 3:20 @TBD - est pickup: 5:00 pm Sat - Liberty Bell @Heritage High School Liberty Bell Live Event Video https://runsignup.com/Race/Results/152954 Race Schedule

What a way to start the 2023 XC Season! We competed at the Chetenne Mountain Stampede (Pre-State) meet and ran extremely well as a team. You can look at the results linked below. The Boys JV took to the course first and certainly made quite the statement (the CM coach road by two miles into the race shouting "runners coming" and then say Coach Lyons and changed to shouting "Sabercats coming through") with a dominant win as a result of 8 runners finishing in the top 25: Rylan Frueh 2nd, Noah Morine 3rd, Jacob Gibbs 4th, Holden Ripp 8th, Curren Scott 9th, Alex Legoretta 16th, Mason Bussie 21st, Chase Dowis 24th. The Girls JV were up next and continued the success with a team 6th place finish led by Claire Enger finishing 23rd. At 5:20 pm the Boys Varsity officially started their 2023 campaign with a 7th place finish lead by Christian Alley in 8th. Girls Varsity decided to honor their headliner position and finished a very strong 5th place lead by two top 25 finishes in Neev Liv (10th) and Caroline Mello (24th). I think the State has been put on notice for this squad. Cheyenne Mountain Stampede Results Team Pictures Tuesday @3:30 pm. We are wearing our BLACK team Short Sleeve T-Shirt. We are excited to announce that we were selected to compete in the "championship division", meaning we will be racing against some of the best schools from across all divisions in the state. See below for race times. All students will be excused from any classes they'll miss after they are called out on Friday afternoon. Also, please note that we still have mandatory practice on Saturday. We'll be at Bison Park. This past weekend we competed against DC in our annual cross-town scrimmage. Congrats to Christian Alley and Ciara Baker for taking home the individual victories, and to Kaleb Kolbe and Caroline Mello for winning top overall freshmen. For the third year in a row CV came out with a win in the boys/girls combined race. It was an excellent starting point for our teams, but there's still plenty of work to be done.
